Friends of Smith Valley Fire District
Mission Statement for Friends of Smith Valley Fire District:
• Friends of Smith Valley Fire District is a non-profit 501 (c3) who’s mission is
to serve and support the needs of the Smith Valley Fire District. We raise
funds to ensure the department has the needed equipment and training to
serve our local community.
What we do:
The Friends of Smith Valley Fire District is a group of practical, motivated people who support and meet the needs of the firefighters that volunteer. This can look like helping to organize fundraisers, providing meals/baked goods, helping with community events, furthering public education and awareness, and many other things. If you have the desire to serve your community but you're not sure you're up for the demanding aspects of being a firefighter, this is the place for you! Fill out the form below and let us know you would like to volunteer with Friends of Smith Valley Fire, and we would love to get you plugged in.
Friends of Smith Valley Fire District is currently fundraising $190,000 for a new Wildland Engine. Our well loved, second hand, 1993 Ford F350 with a manual transmission has reached the end of its life cycle. Our district is large (69 square miles) and we have many areas that are difficult to access.
Our other needs include rescue struts. We received a very generous donation from a donor who requested to remain anonymous to cover the cost of our extrication equipment.
