Low Angle Training 9_edited_edited.jpg

Welcome

The Smith Valley Fire District protects approximately 69 square miles west of Kalispell, Montana.  We border with South Kalispell, Marion, West Valley, and Kalispell City Fire Departments.  Our urban interface areas are jointly protected by Montana DNRC.

We are governed by five elected Board members. The Department is administered by a paid Chief. We added a Paramedic level emergency medical transport unit to our services in August of 2016. We are a combination department with paid staff Monday - Friday 0700-1700. We still rely on volunteers to respond to emergencies in the evenings and on the weekends.

If you ever wondered what it would be like to be a firefighter, EMS provider, or an auxillary member I encourage you to take a moment and contact us. It will be a life changing opportunity.

Amy Beick

Fire Chief
